Patricia Holt Finishes As Runner-Up At MAC Women's Golf Championship
Senior women's golfer Patricia Holt posted the top individual finish at a MAC Women's Golf Championship for a BGSU student-athlete in program history, placing second at Shaker Run Golf Club in Lebanon, Ohio April 24-26. Holt carded rounds of 77, 75, 75 for a final 227, +11 score. Read the recap by CLICKING HERE.
Lauren Feely Earns MAC Title on the Vault with a 9.900 at MAC Championships
Sophomore Lauren Feely became the third consecutive Falcon to earn the MAC Championship on the vault, scoring a 9.900 at the meet on March 21. She joins Amanda Lievendag (the 2014 champion) and Jamilah Ali (the 2013 champion) to win the event in succession. Read the recap by CLICKING HERE.
Men's Basketball Beats St. Francis (Pa.) In CIT For First Postseason Win Since 1975
Following a 19-win regular season and another win in the Mid-American Conference Tournament (to get to 20 victories), the BGSU men's basketball team earned a bid to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament and went on the road to face St. Francis (Pa.) in the opening round. Bowling Green picked up a 67-64 win to earn the program's first national postseason tournament victory since a win in the NCI in 1975. Despite playing with Richaun Holmes, who was selected in the second round of the NBA Draft following the season, BGSU got 20 points from senior Anthony Henderson to get the victory. Hockey Sets Attendance Record Against Ohio State
On Nov. 14, 5,353 fans piled into the BGSU Ice Arena to watch the 19th-ranked Falcons host Ohio State, breaking the previous record crowd of 5,031 set against Michigan on Feb. 25, 2012. Despite a 27-24 advantage in shots, BGSU fell 3-2 but rebounded with an identical 3-2 win the next night at Ohio State. Four of the five goals came in the final five minutes of regulation with Bowling Green tying the score at 2-2 with 76 seconds to play before the Buckeyes scored the game-winner with just 34 seconds remaining. Brittany Sinclair Breaks A 23-Year School Record In The 400 Hurdles
Senior Brittany Sinclair ran the 400 hurdles in 58.97 seconds at the Virginia Challenge on April 18, breaking a school record that had stood since 1992. Sinclair's time was the best in the Mid-American Conference during the regular season and earned her a spot at the NCAA East Region preliminary meet. The previous record of 59.74 seconds had lasted since Tara Allen ran that time in 1992 and was the sixth record that Sinclair broke during her career (between indoor and outdoor track and field).
