Comella joined the Bowling Green tennis program as a coach ahead of the 2019 season following four years as a member of the team.Â
The 2019-20 season began with promise for the Falcons, going 6-3 to begin the campaign. However, the coronavirus outbreak cut the season short after nine matches, seeing Bowling Green end the season on a three-match win streak as well as the final match being a 7-0 sweep.
During her tenure, Comella was named First Team All-MAC in back-to-back years as well as being named MAC Freshman of the Year following the 2015-16 season. Claiming 73 singles wins, Comella concluded her career in a tie for No. 13 all-time. She also registered 151 combined wins for sole possession of No. 6 all-time in program history.Â
