The Mel Brodt Cross Country Course is home to the Men's and Women's cross country teams. This newly instated cross country course is equipped with racing distances from 2 miles to 10,000 meters and includes a newly constructed permanent finish line structure. BGSU hosted the 2020 MAC Cross Country Championship where MAC Champion Kailee Perry currently holds the record on our 6,000 meter course at 20:41. We honor coach Mel Brodt through the dedication of our XC Course. In 1960 he came to Bowling Green State University and served twenty-five years as the cross country coach. During his tenure, he coached fifty-three Division I All-Americans, one Olympic gold medalist (Dave Wottle), one world record-holder (Dave Wottle), three American event record-holders, and ninety-two Mid-American Conference champions.
