The Falcons opened the 1999-2000 season with their first of two exhibition games and took an 88-76 decision from the Pella Windows AAU team.
The Falcons led by as many as 11 points early in the game and led 29-19 with 7:37 left in the first half. Pella Windows then scored 10 unanswered points to tie the game at 29-all with 5:17 left. And Pella took a sllim one-point edge to the locker room after Roland Miller sank a three-pointer at the buzzer for a 41-40 edge at the break. Miller scored 23 of his 25 points in the first half sinking 7-of-9 from thee-point range.
Bowling Green maintained a slim lead for the first 10 minutes of the second half before a 14-3 run broke the game open putting the Falcons ahead by a 78-63 score with 4:59 left. BG maintained a double digit edge the rest of the way.
Keith McLeod led the squad with 22 points, 13 in the second half hitting 6-of-7 shots from the field, while four other players scored in double digits.
