Bowling Green, Ohio - The 1999-2000 Falcon men's swimming and diving team, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Randy Julian, has 17 returning letterwinners and eight freshmen who will kickoff the season this Friday in the Tom Stubbs Relays at the BGSU Recreation Center.
School-record holder and 1997 MAC champion Matt Johnsen will lead the men's squad along with Bill Roehl, Andy Jenkins, Matt Ellinger and diver Kris Waechter in a very tough schedule.
The Tom Stubbs Relays is a non-scoring meet with diving competition taking place at 11:00 a.m. followed by swimming at 5:00 p.m.
The men's and women's teams will open the Mid-American Conference portion of their schedules the first weekend in November. The men swim at Toledo with Eastern Michigan joining the triangular meet on Saturday, Nov. 6 with the meet beginning at noon.
Bowling Green will be the host for the 2000 MAC Men's Championship. The three-day event will be held from March 2-4 at the BGSU Recreation Center.
