Brown Named Assistant Baseball Coach

Tod Brown, 28, has been named the assistant baseball coach at Bowling Green State University athletic director Paul Krebs and head coach Danny Schmitz announced today.
Brown, who earned a bachelor's degree in regional development in 1994 from the University of Arizona, served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Wildcats in 1999 working primarily with pitchers and catchers.
He won six games and had eight saves for the Wildcats' 1993 ballclub. Brown finished his collegiate career with 12 victories and was the closer on the team that came within one run of earning a spot in the 1993 College World Series. He set an Arizona single-season record by appearing in 35 games on the mound for the Wildcats that year. He ranks fourth in UA history with 74 career games pitched.
This past summer, he served as the head coach of the San Francisco Seals of the California Coastal Collegiate League, leading the club to a team-record 43 victories. After winning the western regional in San Diego to qualify, the Seals finished fourth at the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita.
He also served as an assistant coach at Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona in 1997 and 1998, following a three-year professional career.
He and his wife, Janet, reside in Bowling Green.
