Stade Struck Out 10 Against Akron In Thursday Win
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Scholar-Athletes of the Week Wednesday evening (April 9). Of those named, Bowling Green's Ethan Stade was named the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Stade's honor marks the sixth time this year the award has been presented to a BGSU student-athlete.
Stade joins volleyball's Lauryn Hovey (Sept. 11), women's soccer's Emma Stransky (Sept. 17), men's basketball's Javontae Campbell (Nov. 12, Dec. 11) and baseball's Sam Seidel (Feb. 18) as BGSU's recipients this season. The award is the first Scholar Athlete of the Week award of Stade's BGSU career. He was previously named MAC Pitcher of the Week on March 6.
Stade was once again lights out for the Falcons, striking out 10 in his Thursday (April 2) start against Akron. Stade has now struck out eight or more in each of his last three outings as well as in four of his last five appearances. Picking up the win in the game, Stade allowed just one run on six hits and one walk while going seven innings for the Falcons.
