Bowling Green State University senior midfielder Chris Dor (Vermillion, OH/Lorain Catholic) has been selected to play in the Umbro Select All-Star Classic on Saturday, February 5 at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Dor, the only Mid-American Conference player selected for the classic, will be a member of the West Team. His selection marks the third time a BGSU men's soccer player has been selected to participate in the Umbro Classic. Steve Klein participated three years ago, while goalkeeper Scott Vallow played in last year's contest.
The All-Star Classic provides professional league scouts (MLS, USL, NPSL, CISL) the opportunity to evaluate America's top senior collegiate players in combine play. MLS and USL will conduct their college draft on Sunday morning, February 6.
Dor led the Falcons in scoring this past season with 26 points on nine goals and eight assists. He finished his career in sixth place with 75 career points, eighth in goals (26) and ninth assists (23).
Last month, Dor was selected by the Cleveland Crunch in the Territorial Round (13th overall) of the National Professional Soccer League. Another former Falcon, Steve Klein, is currently playing with the Harrisburg Heat of the NPSL.
