Falcons Triumph Over Bucknell, 5-1

Bowling Green scored four first half goals and went on to defeat Bucknell 5-1 at Cochrane Field on Friday afternoon.
The victory ends BG's school-record seven-match losing streak (last five losses by one goal) and improves the Falcons overall record to 4-7, while the Bison fall to 8-3-1.
Sophomore forward Tony Malik scored his first two collegiate goals, with senior Chris Dore scoring twice in a span of 5:43 midway through the first half. Sophomore Kevin Wisniewski scored BG's lone second half marker.
Malik's header, off an assist from Dore, found the back of the net just 3:21 into the match. Dore tallied his sixth of the campaign at 21:45 off an assist from classmate Bobby Biggs. Geza Lendvai-Lintner scored his first of the season for Bucknell at 24:28 as he blasted in a shot from 15 yards out.
Dore notched his second of the game at 27:28 when he stole the ball from two Bucknell defenders and drilled a low shot past BU goalkeeper Nathan Fitzgerald. Malik recorded his second of the match at 39:33 with a header off a corner kick from Matt Lyons. Wisniewski's tally came at the 57:05 mark as he drilled in a shot from 15 yards out. Detrick Matthews and Dore assisted on Wisniewski's third of the season.
BG goalkeeper Ty Fowler made four saves, while Fitzgerald was credited with one save.
The Falcons will try to earn their first MAC win of the year on Sunday when Western Michigan visits Cochrane Field for a 2 p.m. match.
