Men's Soccer Falls To Xavier

The Bowling Green Falcons (3-4-0) were dealt their fourth consecutive loss Sunday by Xavier (2-4-0), 3-2, on the final day of the Global Soccer Classic hosted by Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. OU won the tournament with wins over Xavier (2-0 on Saturday) and Central Florida (4-0 on Sunday).
BG senior Chris Dore scored twice after the Falcons had fallen behind but the Musketeers Koen Kuiken recorded his third goal of the match just eight seconds after Dore's second of the contest had evened the score. Kuiken scored at 7:43, 54:23 and 76:44 with the first two goals being assisted by Josh Hammerschmidt. Dore's two unassisted goals were scored at 52:51 and 76:36.
Kuiken's hat tricks marks the fourth straight match in which a Falcon opponent has recorded a hat trick.
BG goalkeeper Ty Fowler was credited with three saves, while Xavier 'keeper Paul Wesseling had seven saves.
Bowling Green will try to snap its four-game losing streak on Friday when it faces #2 Penn State in the Florida International Classic at 5 p.m.
