Falcons Fall 4-2 To Tulsa

Ted Figard had two first half goals for Tulsa, at 23:01 and 26:35, as the Golden Hurricanes outshot BG 8-5 in the opening 45 minutes.
Mike Tinajero's first collegiate goal at 50:22, from Bobby Biggs, pulled BG to within one at 2-1. Biggs scored his second marker of the year at 57:42, from Detrick Matthews and Fred Degand, to even the game at two.
Figard completed his hat trick at 79:41, with Chris Spears adding an insurance goal at 88:18.
Falcon goalkeeper Ty Fowler was credited with nine saves, while Jeff McKeever (five saves in 61:48) and Brent Salter (four saves in 28:12) tended goal for Tulsa.
Bowling Green will try to snap its two-game losing streak this weekend when it travels to Rochester Hills, Michigan, for the Oakland University Global Soccer Classic. BG faces Central Florida at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Xavier at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
After rallying to tie the game at two early in the second half, the BG Falcons surrendered two goals in the final 11 minutes in falling to Tulsa (2-2) Sunday afternoon in Peoria, Illinois. Richmond (3-1) defeated tournament host Bradley (2-3) 4-0 to claim the 1999 Holiday Inn City Centre Classic title.
