Hockey Suffers Defeat At Alabama-Huntsville, 2-0

The Bowling Green State University hockey team lost the second game of a weekend series at Alabama-Huntsville, 2-0, Saturday night at the Von Braun Center.
After a scoreless opening two periods, UAH scored a power-play goal just 22 seconds into the third period on a goalmouth scramble. Karlis Zirnis banged in his own rebound. The Chargers' Steve Charlebois completed the scoring with an empty-net marker with only 16 seconds remaining in regulation.
BG goaltender Tyler Masters made 25 saves. UAH netminder Mark Byrne turned aside 26 Falcon shots in recording his second consecutive shutout.
The Falcons were blanked on six power-play chances, while limiting UAH to one goal in six opportunities.
BG will take an 0-2 mark into Friday's home contest against the Michigan Wolverines. Face-off at the BGSU Ice Arena is slated for 7:05 p.m. UAH is 2-0 this season and will play at Western Michigan next weekend.
