The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to post a 2-1 win at Oakland University on Tuesday. BG evened its overall record at 6-6 with its third consecutive victory. The Golden Grizzlies, who were ranked sixth in this week's NSCAA Great Lakes Region poll, fell to 8-5-1 overall.
OU took a 1-0 lead at the 8:24 mark when Adam Heinemann tallied his third goal of the season off an assist from Ron Mashni. BG outshot the hosts 7-3 in the first half, and 4-1 in shots on goal.
BG freshman P.J. Behan (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis) scored his first collegiate goal with 10:39 left in regulation to tie the game at one. Senior Adam Erhard (North Olmsted, Ohio) notched his team-leading seventh assist on Behan's marker.
Fifth-year senior Zac Olson (Mason, Mich.) scored his first of the season at the 80:51 mark off an assist from senior Matt Lyons (Maineville, Ohio/Cincinnati Moeller).
BG had the only two shots on goal in the second half.
Falcon freshman goalkeeper David DeGraff (Naperville, Ill./Central) did not register a save, while OU goalkeeper Mike Skolnik made four saves, all in the first half.
The Falcons resume Mid-American Conference play with a Friday match at Kentucky. Kick-off is slated for 8 p.m.
