Volleyball Loses At Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo hit .303 as a team en route to a three-game win over the Bowling Green State University volleyball team Wednesday night (Oct. 4). The Mid-American Conference match was held at UT's John F. Savage Hall.
The Rockets won the match by game scores of 15-9, 15-10 and 15-8.
For the Falcons, senior JoAnna Papageorgiou led the team in nearly every category. She had 12 kills and a .346 hitting percentage, along with eight digs and three blocks to pace the Brown and Orange in each case.
Junior Caty Rommeck was the only other Falcon with a double-digit kill total, recording 10. Classmate Shyann Robinson had nine kills, while freshman Susie Norris had eight.
Junior Natalie Becker had 39 assists for the Falcons, who drop to 9-5 overall and 2-3 in MAC play.
Bitsy Mayhle led the home team (5-8, 2-2 MAC) with 19 kills and a .548 hitting percentage.
The Falcons will return to action with a Friday (Oct. 6) match at Western Michigan. First serve for that match is set for 7:00 p.m. at WMU's University Arena.
