ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team competed at the 2000 Wolverine Fall Invitational over the weekend (Oct. 6-8). No team scores were kept at the invite, which featured competitors from Cincinnati, DePaul and Western Michigan, in addition to the Falcons and host Michigan.
Individually, senior Abby Bratton posted a 2-2 record at both singles and doubles. She won her first-round match in the "Blue" singles flight, and teamed with junior Devon Bissinger to win the duo's first two doubles matches. That doubles team lost to a pair of U-M tandems, falling in a tiebreaker in each case.
Senior Meghan Rhodes also went 2-2 in singles in the "Blue" flight, while freshman Gaby Coello, competing in the "Maize" flight, also split her four matches.
Coello teamed with Rhodes to go 2-2 in doubles play.
The Falcons will return to action on Oct. 20, heading to Kalamazoo, Mich., for the Mid-American Conference Fall Indoor tourney.
