Ahead This Week

Rob Friend leads WMU in goals (6) and points (14), while Scott Duhl has 12 points on five goals and two assists. Both Nick Maryliw (3-4-0, 2.49) and Brendan Smith (1-3-1, 1.45) have seen time in goal for coach Chris Karwoski.
Bowling Green has a 22-3-2 all-time mark against Western Michigan following last year's 1-1 (OT) tie in BG when Bronco Jason Hoffmeyer scored on a penalty kick with three seconds left in regulation.
The Thundering Herd are idle until Saturday's match at Cochrane Field. Marshall tied Ohio State (0-0 2-OT) and defeated Wright State (1-0) last week to improve to 10-2-1 overall. The Thundering Herd have a league record of 3-1-0 including wins over Western Michigan, Buffalo and Akron. In all three conference wins, Marshall scored three goals.
Byron Carmichael leads Marshall in goals (15) and points (32), while Chris Donovan has added seven goals and 19 points. Abdul Wahab Lubega has 12 points (3 goals, 6 assists) in only eight matches. Taly Goode has started all 13 matches between the pipes and has a 1.08 goals-against average as Marshall has recorded seven shutouts this year.
Bowling Green leads the all-time series against Marshall with a 4-1-0 mark having outscored the Thundering Herd 13-2. The Falcons won last year's match in Huntington, 2-1 OT, on a Chris Dor goal.
BG will be on the road for two straight matches following the Marshall contest, before returning home for the final three regular-season matches.
