Icers Fall In Overtime At Ohio State, 5-4

The Bowling Green State University hockey team rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the final four minutes of regulation to force overtime, but Ohio State's Pete Broccoli scored with 28.5 seconds left in the extra session to give the Buckeyes a 5-4 win.
The Falcons are now 2-6-2 overall and 2-4-2 in the CCHA, while OSU improves to 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the CCHA.
BG's Marc Barlow scored his first goal of the campaign at the 12:04 mark of the opening period to tie the game at one. OSU's Jean-Francois Dufour scored during a Buckeye power play at 7:53 marking the ninth time in 10 games this season that BG had fallen behind 1-0.
Greg Day tallied his eighth of the year during a Falcon man-advantage 7:13 into the middle period. Barlow and Curtis Valentine assisted on Day's goal. The Buckeyes tied the game just 51 seconds later when R.J. Umberger scored his fourth of the season.
Dufour netted his second of the contest 3:08 into the third period and Miguel Lafleche added a short-handed goal at the 11:17 mark to give OSU a 4-2 lead.
Ryan Murphy scored a power-play goal at the 16:22 mark off assists from Scott Hewson and Kevin Bieksa to pull BG within one at 4-3.
Ryan Fultz scored his second goal in as many games with 43.9 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at four. Day earned his second point of the contest with the lone assist. Fultz's goal was scored just five seconds after Tyler Masters had left the ice for an extra skater.
Masters turned aside 33 shots including 15 in the opening period, while OSU netminder Mike Betz was credited with 19 saves. BG scored on two of its nine power-play chances, with the Buckeyes scoring on one of their four man-advantage opportunities.
Bowling Green completes its month-long six-game road trip with a Friday-Saturday series at Alaska Fairbanks. Face-off both nights at the Carlson Center is 11:05 p.m. Eastern.
