BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team has announced the signing of a student-athlete to a National Letter of Intent. Susan Schoenberger will join the Falcon program for the 2001-02 academic year.
Schoenberger is currently in her senior year at Upper Arlington High School. A three-time First-Team All-Ohio selection, she has been a part of a team that has won three Division I state championships.
Individually, Schoenberger was one-half of a doubles team that recently finished second in Ohio at the state championship. She was part of the state-champion doubles squad in each of the two previous years.
A team co-captain, Schoenberger has also been a Presidential Youth Service Award winner in each of the last four years.
Schoenberger is considering majoring in broadcast journalism at BGSU. Her mother, grandmother and aunt all are BGSU graduates.
"Bowling Green is extremely pleased to add Susie to our program," said Falcon head coach Penny Dean. "She is an exciting player with a great record. Susie will definitely be a welcome addition to the Falcons."
The Falcons have completed the fall portion of the 2000-01 schedule, and are idle until a Jan. 19, 2001, dual match at Michigan.
