Matela's 18 Points Not Enough As Bowling Green Falls To Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) - Marius Janisius scored a game-high 19 points and 17 rebounds in Marist's 86-69 victory over non-conference Bowling Green Saturday.
Marist (5-4) relinquished its lead just once during the game, when Len Matela scored with 14:53 remaining in the first half. Marist followed with 12 points during the next three minutes to take the lead for good.
A 3-pointer by Blake Sonne at 3:33 gave Marist its largest lead for the half.
Sean Kennedy recorded 11 points and 10 assists. Drew Samuels scored 16 points in the victory, Sherman Whittenberg and Sonne scored 12 points apiece.
For Bowling Green, Matela and Keith McLeod scored 18 and 11 points respectively.
