Women's Gymnmastics Third In Meet At Ball State

The Bowling Green State University women's gymnastics team finished third in a three-team meet hosted by Ball State Friday night.
The host team took top team honors with 193.925 points and were followed closely by Kent which had 193.850. Bowling Green totaled 191.425 points for the evening.
The Falcons are now 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Sophomore Marny Oestreng, the defending NCAA champion in the floor exercise, won two events capturing the vault with a school record score of 9.950 while she tied with Ball State's Heather Berry for the top spot in the bars with a 9.850.
Her score in the vault bettered her previous school record of 9.925 set last season.
Bowling Green's next best finish was turned in by Amber Curry in the vault where her score of 9.775 earned her fourth place.
Oestreng was also fourth in the all-around with a 38.075 total.
Bowling Green finished second as a team in the vault (48.650) and floor exercise (48.400), but were third in both the bars and beam.
