March 17, 2026 | Gymnastics
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University's Kayla Shaw earned All-Mid American Conference (MAC) Second Team honors for her outstanding Floor Exercise performances during the 2026 gymnastics season.
The All-MAC teams are determined based on individual National Qualifying Scores (NQS).
Shaw has played a key role in the Falcons' recent gymnastics success. The Brampton, Ontario, native has competed in at least two events in all 11 meets this season. The most notable being her career-high of 9.900 on floor against Northern Illinois that sparked the Falcons' first MAC win since 2022. Shaw is known for her excellence on the bars, beam and floor events for the Falcons.
As a sophomore, Shaw has accumulated six first-place overall wins, seven second-place overall, and seven third-place overall performances. In her most recent meet, Shaw won both the beam and floor events to help propel the Falcons to a victory, scoring a 9.850 on the beam and 9.875 on the floor against Centenary College. Performances like that are why Shaw has an NQS of 9.855 on the floor. Shaw ranks third overall in the MAC for the Floor Exercise. Not only has Shaw excelled in the Floor Exercise, but she also ranks 19th in the MAC in beam, displaying her multiple skills at the highest of levels.
Shaw and the rest of the Falcons are set to take on the MAC Championships at the Stroh Center on Saturday, March 21, at 2 pm.
