BGSU Names Assistant Swim Coach

Bowling Green State University Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach Randy Julian announced today the hiring of Paige Gross as assistant coach for both the men's and women's swimming teams.
Gross, a native of Kettering, received her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Cincinnati in 1997. She was a member of the Bearcat swimming team in 1993 and 1994.
She served as an assistant coach at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati the last five years, while also serving as an assistant coach under Ken Stopkotte with the Cincinnati Marlins the last three years. She has worked as a coach and counselor at the University of Southern California Swim with Schubert Swim Camps.
Gross is a Life Plus member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), and has been a member of the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) for five years. She has been a coach with USA Swimming since 1996 and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Local Masters Swimming Committee (LMSC). She is also the Ohio Zone Committee chairperson.
Her professional accomplishments include serving as Ohio Zone Team Coordinating Coach in 1999 for the Central Zone Meet champions. St. Xavier won two Ohio State championships (1997 and 1999) during her tenure, while also placing second in the state two other seasons (1996 and 1998). St. Xavier extended their undefeated streak through the 1999-2000 season. While with the Marlins, she worked with numerous swimmers that competed in both the USA Swimming and USMS National Championships.
The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving teams are idle until their respective conference championships. The Mid-American Conference women's championships will take place Feb. 24-26 at Ohio University in Athens, while BGSU will host the MAC men's championships from Mar. 2-4 at the BGSU Student Recreation Center.
