ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bowling Green softball team continued its solid hitting, defeating arch-rival Toledo by a 10-1 score in Orlando, Fla. The game, the first of a doubleheader, was played at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex Friday morning (March 10). The contest was called after four-and-a-half innings due to the "mercy rule," as BGSU, the home team, led by more than eight runs.
The Falcons won for the seventh consecutive game, with Andrea Genter getting the win. Genter scattered four hits in getting the complete-game victory.
The Brown and Orange pounded out nine hits. Junior Angie Domschot went 3-for-3 with a run batted in, while classmate Lynsey Ebel had two hits in three at-bats, driving in a run. Senior Carmen Hitterdal was 2-for-3 at the plate, while another senior, Colleen Bates, had a pair of RBI.
The Falcons returned to the field to take on the Rockets in the second game of the twinbill, and BGSU will meet Buffalo Friday night (March 10).
