Women's Golf Finishes In 12th-Place Tie

SEBRING, Fla. - The Bowling Green women's golf team finished in a 12th-place tie at the Springlake Classic in Sebring, Fla., Friday and Saturday (March 10-11). The 18-team tournament, hosted by Northern Illinois University, was held at the Springlake Country Club in Sebring, Fla.
The Falcons shot 659 as a team in the 36-hole tournament, tying for 12th with arch-rival Toledo. Ohio University won the tourney with a score of 597, followed by Southwest Missouri State with a 608 score.
Individually, Shelley Binzel had a team-best score of 162, while Shannon Sharp carded a 163. Missy Hinds shot a 164 with Shannon Smith shooting a 172 over the two-day tourney.
Jessica Polus of SMSU and OU's Julee Sovesky tied for medalist honors at 144.
