ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bowling Green softball team pounded out 14 hits and topped the University at Buffalo, 9-1, Tuesday night (March 7). The game was played at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
Sophomore Rebekah Tipton picked up her first collegiate victory, as the Bulls had only three hits in the game. UB, a member of the MAC for most sports, is competing as an independent in softball this spring. The 2000 team is the Bulls' first since 1986.
At the plate, freshman Kandice Machain and sophomore Natalie Phillips paced the hit brigade for the Brown and Orange. Machain went 3-for-4 in the game, while Phillips had three hits in as many trips. Both players had a double and drove in a run.
Junior Jenny Domschot slammed her second homer of the spring, a two-run shot.
BGSU, now 4-3 on the season, takes a four-game winning streak into a game against North Carolina A&T later on Tuesday night (March 7). That game was scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start.
