
Baseball Drops Nightcap, 7-6, At Kent

After tying the score in the top of the seventh, Bowling Green surrendered the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh in falling at Kent 7-6 in Saturday's nightcap.
The Falcons snapped a scoreless tie with two runs in the fourth. Lee Morrison had a one-out double and following a walk to Matt Marcum, Kenny Burdine's double scored Morrison. Marcum came home on a Nick Elrod sacrifice fly.
Kent tied the score in the fourth on a two-out triple by Ty Carpenter. BG responded with three runs in the fifth. With one out, Len Elias, Alan Gilhousen and Sean Ryan all singled to score Elias. Lee Morrison doubled in Ryan and Gilhousen.
The Golden Flashes tied it with three runs in the fifth and went ahead with a run in the sixth.
Bowling Green pulled even at six in the top of the seventh. Len Elias drew a leadoff walk. Alan Gilhousen sacrificed Elias to second and Sean Ryan doubled him home. Kent scored the winning run when Dave Mattle had a leadoff single, moved to second on a walk and scored on Ty Carpenter's single.
BG (25-16-1, 12-4 MAC) and Kent (32-12, 13-3) conclude the weekend series with a Sunday doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.
