Buffalo, NY - The Bowling Green State University women's track team finished in eighth place at the 2000 Mid-American Conference outdoor championship hosted by the University at Buffalo.

Junior Christine Thompson (Amherst, Ohio) placed sixth in the finals of the 800m in a time of 2:13.78, and 19th in the finals of the 5,000m in a time of 17:59.50. Junior Lisa Mariea (Toledo, Ohio) and senior Nikki Monroe (Elida, Ohio) placed 25th and 27th, respectively in the 5,000m in times of 18:20.51 and 18:37.20.
BG's 4x400m Relay team of freshman Joy Echler (Montpelier, Ohio), sophomore Jovone Houpe (Gahanna, Ohio), freshman Briana Killian (Englewood, Ohio) and sophomore Anna Schwieterman (New Bremen, Ohio) placed 10th in a time of 4:06.80.
Senior Andrea Cook (Marysville, Ohio) was second in the pole vault finals at 11'09.75 (3.60m), a BG season-best height. Junior Jennifer Easterlin (Coldwater, Ohio) and sophomore Erin Coleman (Fostoria, Ohio) did not record a height.
Junior Lori Williams (Erie, Pennsylvania) was second in the discus throw (160'01.00" - 48.79m), while freshman Mary Willems (Huntington, Indiana) placed 11th (131'07.00" - 40.11m).
