BGSU Throwers Shine With PRs, Podium Finish in in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Bowling Green's track and field program competed this weekend at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational with standout performances in the throwing events and a pair of personal records on the track.
Lily Tomasheski headlined the Falcons' showing in the javelin throw Friday, earning runner-up honors with a personal-record toss of 40.28 meters. The mark ranks fourth all-time at BGSU and seventh-best in the conference this season. Jenna Lucas added a fifth-place finish at 35.90m, and Elizabeth Wilson rounded out the group in eighth at 32.22m.
In the hammer throw, Emma Hoffman and Sierra Podolan each set personal records, with Hoffman throwing 39.80m and Podolan registering 39.41m.
Saturday's action opened with the discus, where Hoffman led Bowling Green in ninth with a throw of 41.38m. Natalie Vrancken (39.97m) and Podolan (39.89m) finished 11th and 12th, respectively, with Sierra Brinson rounding out the Falcon contingent at 36.98m. In the shot put, Podolan placed 10th at 13.03m, Tomasheski 13th at 12.25m and Lucas 14th at 12.07m.
On the track, Ritting posted personal records in both the 800 meters (2:29.11) and the 1,500 meters (5:03.06). In the 5,000 meters, Madison Foster finished 14th in 18:41.14, with Clare Valenza completing the race in 20:22.81.
On the men's side, Micah Bentley and Luke Woolard finished 19th and 20th, respectively, in a field of 35 in the 5,000 meters. Bentley crossed in 15:23.15 and Woolard in 15:27.66. Bryce Weber finished in 15:54.22, followed by Wyatt Ulbricht (16:10.70) and Isaak Rubley (16:23.10).
The Falcons travel to Muncie, Ind., for Ball State's We Fly Challenge, a two-day meet beginning Friday, April 10.
