Rachael Hoover Sets 800m Record in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. – On the final day of competition at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility, Bowling Green put in a strong performance.
The day began with the long jump, where Kiera Bonds took 10th with a 5.78m jump. Morgan Patterson followed with a 5.36m attempt, and Sabrina Imes leapt to 5.31m.
The track opened with the 4x100m relay, where the Falcons finished in 47.30, placing them 17th.
The highlight of the day came in the 800m, where Rachael Hoover's 2:07.06 (9th) run set a new school record, outpacing former record holder Tracy Gaerke. Reese Reaman followed at 2:09.61 and Marissa Boone at 2:14.97.
The 400m hurdles had Alexsia Davis (1:04.41) and Christabelle Obi (1:04.49) finish at 45th and 47th, while the 200m saw Kiersten Franklin place 23rd (24.43) and Reagan Campbell finish in 24.94. Freshman Ava Bowman crossed in 26.07 to conclude the event for BGSU.
The day ended with the 4x400m where Bowling Green placed 14th with a 3:48.72 effort.
Bowling Green will return to action next week for the Oliver Nikoloff Invite hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
