Men' Soccer Wins First Exhibition Contest

The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team began its 2000 exhibition season with a 1-0 victory over Christian Brothers University (Memphis, Tenn.) yesterday.

Junior Detrick Matthews (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Hope-Rio Rancho, N.M.) scored the only goal of the match in the second half off assists from seniors Tommy Thomas (Elida, Ohio/Elida) and Matt Lyons (Maineville, Ohio/Cincinnati Moeller).

The Falcons continue their exhibition schedule tomorrow (Aug. 22) versus Tiffin University at 5 p.m. and conclude pre-season play on Sunday (Aug. 27) against the University of Cincinnati at 5:30 p.m.
