The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team won its final exhibition game on Sunday, 2-1, over visiting Cincinnati.
The Bearcats opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Jamal Frazier's shot beat Falcon goalkeeper David DeGraff (Naperville, IL/Central).
Bowling Green scored the equalizer two minutes later when senior Matt Lyons (Maineville, OH/Cincinnati Moeller) converted a penalty kick following a deliberate handball in the box.
The Falcons Tony Malik (Parma, OH/Padua Franciscan) tallied the match-winning goal when his header in the 57th minute went past UC goalkeeper Sacha Nathu. Malik's goal came off a corner kick by Detrick Matthews (Bellefontaine, OH/Hope-Rio Rancho, NM).
DeGraff was credited with three saves in 70 minutes of action, while Mike Began (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) did not face any shots on goal in the final 20 mintues.
