Men's Soccer Match Against OSU Cancelled

Rain and lightning forced an 1:15 delay during the first half of the Bowling Green versus Ohio State men's soccer match on Saturday at BGSU's Cochrane Field.
After the 75 minute delay with 14:14 remaining in the opening half, play resumed for nearly four minutes before another storm forced the game to be cancelled. Neither team had scored, but BG held a 5-1 shots advantage, with OSU leading 3-1 in shots on goal.
The opening match of the 2000 BGSU Diadora Classic saw Oakland University defeat Vanderbilt University 3-0. The Golden Grizzlies scored once in the first half on a goal by Paul Snape at the 18:54 mark off an assist from Inge Pedersen. Gunnar Halvorsen scored on a penalty kick at the 77:58 mark, while Pedersen completed the scoring with a goal at the 87:59 mark off an assist from Jeppe Lagerbohm.
Oakland goalkeeper Mike Skolnik made three saves in recording the shutout, while Vanderbilt starting 'keeper Matt Gotterer allowed one goal on five shots. The Commodores second goalkeeper, Brad Winter, stopped two of four shots.
The 2000 BGSU Diadora Classic will continue on Sunday as Oakland faces Ohio State at 1 p.m., with Bowling Green playing Vanderbilt at 3:15 p.m.
