ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team recorded a three-game win over Western Carolina University Friday afternoon (Sept. 8). The Falcons swept the Catamounts by scores of 16-14, 15-9, 15-3 at the UCF Fall Invitational at UCF Arena.
For the Falcons, now 2-2 on the season, junior Caty Rommeck had a team-best 16 kills and hit an eye-popping .609. Rommeck's 16 kills came in 23 total attempts, and she had just two errors. Rommeck also led the Brown and Orange with 12 digs and five total blocks.
Senior JoAnna Papageorgiou had 12 kills, 10 digs and three blocks to rank second on the team in all three categories.
Freshman Susie Norris had nine kills and six digs in the match. As a team, the Falcons had 50 kills and hit .271. The Catamounts, now 0-5 on the season, hit .170 with 45 kills in the match.
BGSU will return to action Friday evening, taking on the host school, the University of Central Florida, in a match scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
