Men's Cross Country Sweeps Ohio, 15-50

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team opened the 2000 season on a successful note, downing visiting Ohio by a 15-50 score Saturday morning (Sept. 9). The first seven runners to cross the finish line were members of the Brown and Orange.
For coach Sterling Martin's squad, junior Tom Kutter led the way with a time of 25:34. Freshman Paul Niedzwiecki was second with a time of 25:52, while junior Rob Glatz crossed the line at 26:05. Sophomore Dave Larsen, freshmen Justin Perez and Steve Blasko and junior Austin Chapin rounded out the top-seven runners for BGSU.
Ohio's top runner was sophomore Mickey Martin, who placed eighth in a time of 26:48.
The Falcons will return to action next Saturday (Sept. 16), hosting the Mel Brodt Invitational. That race will mark the final home action of the season for the Falcons.
