Cubbison, Staples Represent BGSU on Final Day of East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – On the final day of the NCAA East First Round, Bowling Green stitched together a strong effort. Both Kylee Cubbison and Bianca Staples capped their careers at BGSU, competing in the 1500 meters and triple jump.
Cubbison, the Falcons' record holder in the 1500, qualified for the quarterfinals on Thursday with a third-place finish in her heat. After a gutsy race with an impressive 700m split, she finished in 4:18.71. That performance concludes a historic career for the senior, who won a MAC championship this season in the 1500 and was bestowed All-MAC First Team honors.
At 6 p.m., Staples hit the runway for her third straight regional prelim. On her first attempt in the second flight, she reached 12.21 meters in the triple jump. She finished her final season third on the all-time program list in the event and reached the podium at the MAC Championships.
Saturday's meet concludes Bowling Green's 2025-26 outdoor campaign.
