Bowling Green, OH - The Bowling Green State University women's track team used a strong team effort to take second place in the four-team BGSU Invitational at Perry Field House. Six Falcon women and one relay team scored victories on the day led by senior Stephanie Heldt (Toledo, OH/Central Catholic). Heldt established a new school record in the high jump with a jump of 6-0.
The Falcons dominated the field event portion of the invite, winning four of the six events. Joining Heldt with first place honors were classmates Lisa Keegan (Green Springs, OH/Clyde) in the weight throw and Andrea Cook (Marysville, OH) in the pole vault. Keegan's throw of 52-8 3/4 and Cook's jump of 11-5 3/4 were both good enough for first place. Freshman Kerri McClung (Portland, IN/Jay County) won the shot put with a throw of 46-6 3/4.
In the 5,000 meters, senior Lisa Mariea raced to first place, posting a time of 17:35.04. Freshman Brianna Killian won the 600 meter race with a time of 1:38.62.
