TOLEDO, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's tennis team won for the second time in dual-match play this season, and for the second time on Saturday (Jan. 27), defeating IUPUI by a 7-0 count at Shadow Valley in Toledo.
The Falcons (2-0) won in straight sets at each singles flight, with junior Vitek Wild capturing the top flight. For Wild, it marked his 13th singles win in 14 tries this year.
Sophomores Peter Gardonyi and Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo were victorious at the second and third flights, respectively. BGSU's other singles winners, in order, were freshman Nick Moxley, junior Mike Kossoff and sophomore Geoff Hiscox.
BGSU also captured the doubles point, winning all three matches. Wild and Hiscox teamed for a win at the top flight, while Moxley and sophomore Micael Lopez-Acevedo were winners at the second level. The Falcons' third-flight team consisted of Kossoff and junior Ed Kuresman.
The Falcons' third and final match on Saturday was a 5:00 p.m. dual against Youngstown State.
