
Bowling Green Falls to Miami, 3-1

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - In a match full of ups and downs, the Bowling Green State University volleyball team suffered its first home loss of the season against MAC East rival, Miami, in a four game match (30-22, 26-30, 21-30, 35-37). BGSU is now 11-5 overall and 4-4 in the MAC.
Bowling Green was led by junior Kristin Gamby, who posted 18 kills, hitting .286. Senior Natalie Becker led the team in both assists, with 52, and digs, recording 13 in the four game match. Becker also had seven kills and two block assists. Classmate Caty Rommeck blasted 17 kills, hitting .235, as well as posting 10 digs and five total blocks.
A very defensive game, BG also saw double digit digs from Kate Yeo, Karen Amstutz, Susie Norris and Shyann Robinson. Robinson also had eleven kills on the night, while Norris contributed seven. Laura Twyman had nine kills and three block assists.
Also seeing action for the Falcons were Amber Vorst, Nadia Bedricky, Sara Sikorski and Melissa Mohr.
The Falcons had 73 kills, hitting .146 as a team, while Miami had 67 kills, hitting .199 asa team. Errors made the difference, as BG posted 42 to Miami's 28. The Falcons had a team total of seven blocks to Miami's 15.
BGSU returns to Anderson Arena tomorrow night (Oct. 20), facing MAC opponent Marshall at 7:00 p.m.
