BGSU Freshman Class Among Top-25

Bowling Green, Ohio - The freshman class of the Bowling Green men's golf team was recognized recently as among the Top-25 freshman classes in the nation, according to Golfstat.com's "Freshman Class Impact Ranking."
The Falcons were ranked 24th with a relative strength score of 227.58 and average score of 74.07 among its freshmen. Tulane University was first with a relative strength score of 504.90 and average score of 74.12.
True-freshman Austin Chase and redshirt-freshman Craig Pickerel were members of the Falcon squad this fall for BGSU coach Garry Winger. Chase placed in all four fall tournaments for Bowling Green and was the top Falcon finisher at the Ball State Invitational (T-19th overall) and Xavier Invitational (T-17th overall), carding a three-round score of 217 in both tournaments. The St. Clair Beach, Ontario, native finished tied for 22nd at the Detroit Invitational and was 10th at BGSU's John Piper Intercollegiate.
Pickerel finished tied for 22nd with Chase at the Detroit Invitational with a three-round score of 220, and also placed at the Xavier Invitational.
Bowling Green begins its spring schedule with a trip to Ocala, Fla., March 9-10.
