BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released the regional rankings, and Bowling Green State University men's tennis junior Geoff Hiscox is included among the singles players. Hiscox is ranked 24th in the Midwest Region in the singles rankings.
He is the lone Mid-American Conference singles competitor to be listed in the rankings, which include 30 players.
Hiscox, a native of London, Ontario, posted a 10-3 record during the fall portion of the season. His fall campaign was highlighted by a lengthy run in the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Stone Mountain, Ga.
During that competition, Hiscox advanced through the prequalifier and the qualifier to make it all the way to the main draw. He was eliminated from that tournament by San Diego State's Oliver Maiberger, who is currently first in the Mountain Region in the latest rankings.
Hiscox's other two losses in the fall came at the hands of regionally-ranked players, DePaul's Jevgenji Cariov (16th in Midwest Region) and Mike Calkins of Illinois (eighth in Midwest Region).
BGSU's next action is a Jan. 19, 2002, dual match at Indiana University.
