Second-Half Defense Carries Falcons Past Detroit

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - Keith McLeod scored 24 points and Len Matela had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead Bowling Green to 77-60 victory over Detroit on Saturday night.
Brandon Pardon added 20 points for the Falcons (9-1), shooting 5-of-9 from the field and 9-of-11 on free throws.
The Falcons outscored the Titans 22-8 during a 12:01 stretch of the second half to take a 69-56 with 1:52 left. Detroit (6-4) managed just one field goal and seven free throws in that span.
Greg Grays led the Titans with 15 points, shooting just 3-of-10 from the field but going 8-for-10 on free throws. Terrell Riggs added 13 points and Willie Green had 11.
McLeod hit 6-of-13 shots and 10-of-13 free throws. Matela shot 8-for-13 and made 7-of-8 from the line.
Bowling Green made 26-of-35 free throws to 16-of-27 for Detroit.
