
Women's Tennis Falls To UIC

OAK PARK, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago won five singles matches and a pair of doubles contests to record a 6-1 win over the Bowling Green State University women's tennis team Saturday (Feb. 17). The non-conference dual match was held at the Oak Park Racquet and Fitness Club.
With the win, the Flames improve to 3-4 on the season, while the Falcons drop to 1-5.
In singles action, senior Meghan Rhodes was the Falcons' lone winner, posting a straight-sets victory over Nicole Derouin at the top flight. Rhodes is now 9-9 on the season, just one win behind classmate Erika Wasilewski (10-8).
Wasilewski suffered a narrow three-game loss at the third flight, while junior Devon Bissinger also extended her match to three games before succumbing.
On the doubles end, the Falcons got a win at the third flight, as Rhodes teamed with freshman Gaby Coello for the victory. That duo is now 5-8 on the campaign.
The Falcons will remain in Chicagoland for a Sunday (Feb. 18) match at DePaul University.
