TUCSON, Ariz. - Kara Wentworth and Lauren Bay combined on a one-hitter as Oklahoma State University posted a 2-0 victory over the Bowling Green State University softball team Saturday (Feb. 17). The game, part of the Pepsi Arizona Classic, was held at Hillenbrand Stadium in Tucson.
With the loss, the Falcons drop to 1-2 on the young season.
The Cowgirls, now 4-5, scored an unearned run in the second inning on two hits and a pair of BGSU errors. OSU added a run in the third on an RBI double by Ryan Realmuto.
BGSU's lone hit came off the bat of freshman Jenifer Kernahan, a one-out single in the third inning.
Falcon junior Jessie Milosek was the hard-luck loser, throwing a complete-game five-hitter. She allowed just one earned run in the loss.
BGSU next faces the University of Kentucky in another Saturday (Feb. 17) contest, before concluding tournament play with a Sunday (Feb. 18) game vs. New Mexico State University.
