Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team established season-high's with 23 runs and 21 hits as the Falcons defeated visiting Buffalo, 23-10, in the first game of a Saturday twinbill. BGSU improves to 17-8 and 7-2 in the MAC. The Bulls are 6-19 and 2-8.
BGSU scored in every inning and rallied from an early 5-2 deficit by scoring 20 unanswered runs.
Among the hitting stars: Senior CF Aric Christman (Leipsic) had three hits, including a grand slam, drove in five runs and scored four times. Sophomore 2B Corey Loomis (Pemberville) had three hits and drove in four, including two on his fourth HR of the year. Senior 1B Chad Curlis (Findlay) was three-for-three with four runs and three RBI. Sophomore DH Kelly Hunt (Bowling Green) had two hits, including his third HR and four RBI. Junior C Tim Newell had two hits and four RBI, including his fourth circuit clout of the campaign. Junior LF Len Elias (Mississaugua, Ont.) had two hits and four runs scored and senior 3B Scott Dukate (Temperance, Mich.) added two hits.
Frehman RHP Kyle Knoblauch (Blissfield, Mich.) pitched five innings and struck out six in improving his record to 4-1.
