
Baseball Completes Sweep of Buffalo, 24-13

Bowling Green, Ohio - Junior LF Len Elias tied a BGSU record with eight RBI and five hits, including two-home runs, as BGSU completed a four-game sweep of Buffalo, 24-13 at Steller Field. Elias tied Andy Tracy's single-game RBI record which was set against Wright State in 1995. Elias also tied his own record of five hits, shared by nine other former Falcons.
The Falcons tied their school record with seven round-trippers, equaling their previous best of seven set against Central Michigan in 1997. BGSU is 19-8 and 9-2 in the MAC.
Sophomore designated hitter Kelly Hunt hit two home runs and drove in five, sophomore 2B Corey Loomis had his sixth homer, junior C Tim Newell had his sixth HR and freshman 3B Nate Henschen rapped his first career dinger in a pinch-hitting role.
Freshman 3B Andy Hudak had three hits and senior CF Aric Christman, freshman LF David Barkholz, and senior 1B Chad Curlis each had two hits apiece.
SERIES NOTES
The Falcons hit .466 in the series, scored 77 runs, had 76 hits, including 19 home runs.
Elias hit .688 (11 of 16) with three home runs and 12 RBI.
Curlis hit .636 (7 of 11) with 6 RBI.
Christman hit .500 (10 of 20) with three HR's and 11 RBI.
Hunt hit .471 (8 of 17) with four HR and 12 RBI.
Hudak (.500, 2 HR, 10 RBI), Loomis (.450, 3 HR, 7 RBI), Newell (.429, 3 HR, 8 RBI) and Dukate (.429, 1 HR, 6 RBI), and junior SS Nick Elrod (.400, 8 runs) all hit over .400 for the weekend.
Senior Brian Thacker (3 IP) and freshman Clayton Booth (2.2 IP) did not allow an earned run in 5 2/3 innings of relief.
