BGSU Women Linksters Tie for 11th at Nittany Lion Invitational

State College, Pa. - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished in a tie with fellow Mid-American Conference school Ohio University this weekend at the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational. The invite was held at the PSU Blue Course. Host Penn State won the 16-team invitational with a score of 914 (three rounds).
Bowling Green had team rounds of 323, 327 and 327 for a final score of 977.
The top Falcon finisher was junior Shelley Binzel who tied for 28th with a three-round score of 238 (80, 80 and 78). In the last two tournaments, Binzel has been the top Falcon placer.
The next best finisher for coach Kurt Thomas' squad was sophomore Jenny Schnipke who finished tied for 40th with a three-round score of 241 (82, 79 and 80). Other finishers included Shannon Smith (T-54th, 248), Stephanie Elsea (59th, 250), Julie Wise (T-77th, 261) and Kari Evans (85th, 273).
BGSU travels to the University of Michigan next weekend for the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, Oct. 6-7.
