BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - Len Matela scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Bowling Green to a 76-57 win over rival Toledo in a Mid-American Conference matchup Saturday.
Bowling Green (14-2, 4-1) had four players score in double figures and held Toledo to 38.6 percent shooting for the game.
The 28 points tied a career high for Matela, who hit 10 of 11 free throws. He was joined in double figures by Keith McLeod with 15, Josh Almanson with 14 and Brandon Pardon with 10.
Freshman Germain Fitch also came off the bench to provide a spark. He had two points, seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks.
Toledo (6-8, 3-2 MAC) hit only 17 of 44 shots from the field and was led by Terry Reynolds, who scored 20. Reynolds hit both of his 3 pointers and made all eight of his free throws.
Bowling Green, which led 33-25 at halftime, outrebounded Toledo 36-30 and was 18 of 23 from the foul line.
