KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Keith McLeod had 30 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double, leading Bowling Green to a 78-66 win over Western Michigan on Wednesday night.
McLeod scored 13 of his points at the free-throw line, including 10 in the first half, when his free-throws points exceeded any Western player's scoring total.
A 3-pointer by Brandon Pardon 7 minutes into the game put Bowling Green up 13-11, and the Falcons never trailed after that, building a lead of as many as 20 points. Pardon finished with 17 points.
The Falcons (15-4, 5-3 Mid-American) broke a two-game losing streak in winning their third consecutive game over Western (10-10, 3-6) in the last two seasons.
McLeod, the MAC's leading scorer with 23.5 points per game, also had five assists. This was his seventh 30-point game of the season.
Western, which hit a MAC-record 17 3-pointers in a 30-point win over Ohio on Saturday, hit just 9 of 21. Freshman guard Ben Reed led the Broncos with 23 points and five rebounds. Steve Reynolds, Robby Collum and Reggie Berry added 10 points apiece.
Len Matela scored 16 points for Bowling Green, which outrebounded Western 42-24.
