Bowling Green, Ohio - In a rain-soaked, two-hour late, men's soccer game on Friday afternoon, visiting IPFW scored the game's first two goals and went on to post a 2-1 win over Bowling Green. The game was played on the BGSU women's practice field due to the late arrival of the Mastodons.
IPFW (4-13-1) struck first at 5:00 with a goal from freshman Joe Schuring. The visitors added another goal at 25:00 off of the foot of freshman Craig Vande Vusse for a 2-0 lead.
BGSU (3-11-0) cut into the lead with just 40 seconds remaining in the first half with a goal from freshman Francisco Jose Sanchez (44:20). Fellow frosh Dave Belfort assisted on the Falcons' lone goal.
BGSU had several chances in the second half but couldn't convert for the game-tying goal.
Bowling Green hosts Akron in a pivotal Mid-American Conference game on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Cochrane Field. With a win, the Falcons can clinch the MAC Regular Season Championship.
