Men's Soccer Improves To 2-0 in the MAC

DeKalb, Illinois - Junior Paul Dhaliwal scored an unassisted goal six minutes into the second half to break a 1-1 tie as Bowling Green defeated Northern Illinois, 2-1, in DeKalb, Illinois. With the win, the Falcons improve to 2-0 in MAC play. NIU is 0-1 in the league and both teams are now 2-8 overall.
Dhaliwal had a two-yard tap off of a free kick which eluded Huskie goalie Steve Goletz. The Falcons started the scoring off at the 18:30 mark when freshman Robert Aouad knocked in a five-yard put-back off an assist from freshman Paul Seip.
NIU evened the score on an unassisted effort from Peter Agrimson a minute into the second half.
The Huskies outshot BGSU 21-12. Junior David DeGraff had four saves in goal.
The Falcons will play Wednesday in a 7 p.m. match at Michigan.
